TL: Amp power connection to battery
Amp power connection to battery
I want to run 4 gauge wire to the battery. The new terminal that came with my wiring kit has connections for one 0/1 gauge and two 4-gauge connections. However, my stock terminal connector seems to already have two large wires connected, not sure what size.
To try the new terminal, I'd have to cut off the old ring terminal and try to stuff the two large wires into the 0/1 - doesn't seem like the best idea.
What else can I do? Will a ring terminal around the tightening bolt be a good enough connection for 80A?

Yeah I looked around a bit more and I found out that the existing stock wires are only 4 gauge, so I put new ring terminals on them and also replaced the battery terminals. Then attached new 4 gauge wire for my amp. Worked fine, now just have to find a way to cover the positive battery terminal, as the old cover doesn't fit with the three different wires going in three directions!
