amp overheating..

just got done with adding a 10" sub to my stock Blose system. i am feeding it a bridged load from a RF250.2. after about 30 seconds of semi-loud play, it shuts off then when it cools down i suppose it cuts back on and keeps doing this until i turn down the volume. I have both of my gains set all the way up. i have it set into the high level inputs and the range on FULL, not LOW or HI. i am going to turn the gains down, maybe i shouldnt bridge it? BTW, it is mounted to the back of my speaker box right behind the rear ski-hole. Thanks for any advice guys.

Turn down your gains. Switch should be set for low pass and tuned to about 80Hz. Find someone who knows how to tune a sub for you or take it to a shop for a couple of bucks otherwise your going to blow something.
