Amp Mounting in the Trunk

How did most of you guys that installed amps mount them in the trunk? Look at my trunk, i know i just finished finalizing the right connections with new LOC's and a new PPI amp so it looks messy. How and where should i mount this? The amp is about 18.5" long so i'm not sure if it will fit above the CD changer like where some of you have mounted it.

The only thing missing from that pic is the birds.

But seriously it depends on how you want to show it. Consider making an amp rack and mounting it above the CD changer or on the other side. Your choices are limited to your imagination.

I am thinking since it looks like you have all your wires running dow the drivers side, what about mounting it on a board vertically on the left side of the trunk. Batman is right though. Just sit down and try to think something up and start messuring. Eventually you'll have an awsesome idea.

I have my Memphis Belle mounted up against the seat back wall. I used 1/2" mdf. There is a slot between the seats and the rear wall that the board fits into. Works out great. I used to have pics in the gallery until they deleted them. Let me know if you want to see and I will send you some pics.

Hey the changer bracket looks good man. Glad it worked out for you.

See if you can mount the amp in the pocket over the changer. If not, how about a carpeted plate that sits above the sub. Maybe tilt it on an angle front to back so people can see the amp.

The changer bracket worked great. thanks again man.

I never got a chance to put back that cover that your supposed to cut and put over the changer. I might try to put the amp there, not sure if it will fit, i'll try to measure it tonight.

Neil, do you mean putting the amp on top of the sub box? I doubt it'll fit, the amp is just too big. I'm just using this polk sub for now, it was from my accord. I want to get a different sub to go along with the CDT's. It was fine with my polk EX speakers, but need something much more powerful with these CDT comps.

that looked like my install too! LOL but the thing is i had 3 10''subs and 3 amps lol... the only reason why it looked like that is cause we ran out of time to clean it up. good start though you will clean it up once you get time. run your ground to a screw behind your seat there is something already being ground there just add your amp ground to it. so you dont have that cable hanging there...
