Unhappy amp in 2003 cls

Hello,

Quick and easy, I would like to know if I can Just switch out my amp in my 2003 cls. I don't want to change anything else. I might sell the car before my warrantee runs out. I am told that my amp is a 25x4 stock amp. If I was to get a 4 channel 50x4 amp could (A) the stock speakers handle the extra power? (B) could I use the power supply for the existing amp without having to run heavier gauge wire. (C) any problems you can think of that I might have in attempting to do so.

A) I doubt it. They're flimsy and won't like being asked to travel farther than they used to. They might come apart.

B) I doubt it...smaller wire, and I bet your fuse for that in the fuse box is too small? You don't want to pop the fuse, you don't want to melt the wire. And amps smaller than 50W pc x4 are almost impossible to find.

C) Other than those two problems, no, I can't think of any. What happened? Did your amp go out?

Your'e better off with new speakers and the OEM amp if it's still working...

I would think that the input would be a bitch...an aftermarket amp would likely not have the proper input from the OEM wiring

Single ended 1-volt. Hard to get simpler than that without already having the RCAs on the ends.
