alternator whhhhiiinneee

I have the worst, reeeaaallll bbbaaaadddd, alternator whine. I have changed the ground location on my pioneer 760mp 3x's. my amp is grounded right at the pass through in the trunk, bare metal and a good conection. Anyway i am breaking down and buying a ground loop isolater, my question is, where do you install a GLI, behind the head unit, or near the amp? thanks for the help!!!

before you do that, do you have your power and speaker wires away from your RCA's??? If not that is probably your problem.

also you put the GLI close to the amp...BTW

I thought the whining noise was a sign of the alternator dying?

i think he means he can hear the alternator noise through his speakers... which is a ground issue.
