alternator and battery with sub

hey i was wondering if the battery and the alternator in my 3.2 cl type s will be alright with a 12 inch ID Max sub and a JBL 1200.1 watt amp...thanks

You'll probably need a capacitor.

My factory battery didn't last with my stereo system. My amp puts out the same power as yours and causes the same amount of battery drain. I got an optima gel cell / yellow top and my bass lines are consistant and I have no problems with lights dimming (HID). I have no cap. The alternator has kept up well so far.

I had that amp running 2 polk momos. I had 2 caps though, because I was running a 80.4 amp also. beware, the stok battery may dim.

I had two amps runnin 600w 4ch and 400w 1ch and my factory battery and alternator and within 8 monthes the battery went so i have two digital capicitors and they work like a charm
