Alternatives to dynamat?

I was thinking of trying to dynamat parts of my car by itself but found out that dynamat is pretty expensive (trunk kit alone is $130.00). I've heard of alternatives to dynamat that are cheaper and work just as well, but can't remember the names. Anyone know?

also, is dynamat hard to do by yourself? I imagine it just takes some time more than anything else...

Cascade is great although it will probably be more expensive that Dynamat. I did my entire trunk, back deck, under back seats and doors and it ran over $150

Try raamat, brown bread or fat mat.

Do raamat, brown bread or fat mat all smell like dynamat? I thought it'd be nice to avoid that tar smell.

I use Peal N Seal. I get it at Lowe's. Works great, has aluminum backing. Alot cheaper than the brand names and I can tell no difference in how it works.
