Alpine Type R

Has anyone heard the Alpine type R 12 inch subs, or know how big of a box they need??? I hear they sound pretty good and they have a good price.

.9 cubic sealed, 1.3 cubic feet ported with a four inch diameter port that is eleven inches in length. I have used these in many many applications, they sound best in ported enclosures and you could easily fit two 12"s in a ported enclosure in the trunk with plenty of trunk space left over. By the way, these are the deepest subs i carry.

Xtant 6.5" components front and rear
xta603x
2 xtant 12" X series subs
plexi box front and rear with 2way mirror, sliding amp rack
clifford avant guard 4 alarm:AEM CAI and pulleys
Comptech headers on the way

Anthony,
I previously had a Kicker 240ZR amp pushing 2 Kicker CompVR 10" subs and the amp worked flawlessly but then I got the Apline 12" type R sub and I needed the 360ZR amp. So far I've had great results with the amp. I do run 2 cylindrical high-velocity fans on the amp rack so it stays quite cool. I know tha Kicker amps run quite hot and can shut down if the gains are cranked up. I have my gain set at 3/4 and I've already popped 1 type R sub (too much power for it being in a sealed box). But the amp is great and puts out over 500 watts easily, drop that down to a 2 ohm load and the result is thunderous bass.
