There are others that have more bands of parametric eq's. They are helpful because you can select any frequency to apply boost or cut, instead of being limited to the pre-chosen frequency's on a graphic eq. Helpful for fixing frequency anomalies, or creating them. It should be said that when more than 2 bands are used in a parametric, phasing problems can occur, but the ease at which freq problems can be solved with multi-band para eq's out ways the freq distortion they create.
