alpine head unit tuning

I purchased a Alpine CDA-9835 head unit several months ago. since i bought it my bass has been hitting about 50% as hard as it did with my kenwood deck. im running an xtant 1001 with two alpine type s 12" subs. when i changed the deck i did not alter amp settings, but i did switch to a 2 ohm sub (had 4 ohm before, same sub).

well i am having a hell of a time tuning the alpine to accomplish the same bass as i had before. i was able to make some progress through the digital equalizer, but am still nowhere near where i was before in terms of bass output and overall sound. I am assuming that it is the radio and not the subs.

if anyone has any experience with this deck or similar ones i would appreciate any advice on tuning it.

thanks

ok, I swallowed my pride and diminished my manhood by looking in the manual and realized that my $2000 system has been sounding like a cell phone ring because the subwoofer level was at zero. yep.

so i answered my own question. damn im smart.

Welcome and thanks for reading the manual (from someone who's written plenty of them ... warms my heart).

Actually...I have this deck and it does output a little bit more bass than other decks...I had not changed the way my system is tuned in 9 years - Soundtream amps - and when I got this deck I had to reduce the gains on the amps.
