Alpine CDA9827 question
Alpine CDA9827 question
I just added a EQ to my system.
My question is.
On my Alpine 9827..
Should i set the TONE DEFEAT (on) to bypass the radio EQ or leave it (off) and
set the TREBLE to (10khz),12.5khz, 15.0khz or 17.5khz?
And set the BASS to 60hz,80hz,100hz or (200hz)?
If I turn the DEFEAT (on) I will also lose the MX feature. Which would suck!
Thanx.
P.S.
My audiocontol has a preset of: Front 150hz. Rear 90hz(output).

You shouldn't run multiple EQs... so you should turn your Alpine Tone/EQ settings OFF. That makes irrelevant your Alpine EQ center freqs.
And what's MX?
Those AudioControl Presets as far as I know are the High Pass Xover freqs. To change them you have to make or buy little resistor modules.
After reading the speaker complement in your sig, I see why you might want an eq - you have a lot os speakers fighting each other in the mids and highs, and a low-end woofer (not BAD, not talking trash about it, but it's JL's lowest-end woofer, that's all).
But in my professional opinion you don't need an EQ, you need speakers that sound the way you want BEFORE you EQ them...

I have found the answer.
I switched the front and rear rca inputs on my amp from the 3XS.
Now I have the 150hz+at rear and 90hz+ at front.
I could have switched the resistors in the 3XS but, switching the rca's was easier.
The rear was putting out too much bass. Now that the fronts have notable amounts of bass the whole system sounds more balanced.
Audiocontrol made the 3XS bottom heavy. Leaving the fronts light and putting to much bass at the rear.
Thanx for your reply.
