Alpine 9835

Just Installed My Alpine 9835 Into My Tl. I Noticed That When I Turn On My Headlights The Unit Dims. I Had This Installed In My Ford Expolrer And The Unit Never Dimmed When I Put The Headlights On. I Looked In Setup Under Dimmer And All I Have Is Manual And Auto. Is There Something I Can Do So That It Doesn't Dim Cause It Seems Too Dim For Me At Night. Thanks

check where you get your power wire, some are connected to the lights in your dash, so they will dim when you dim your instrument cluster.

I was about to answer your question but then I realized that you tried to post this in all caps.

No soup for you.

Sorry If I Have Offened The National Gay Clown Loving Society By Writing This In Caps. Although You Can't See It In Caps.

if you want to eliminate the dim function then you have to clip the orange dimming wire in the harness (to my knowledge that's the only way to bypass it on the alpine). i believe there are 2 wires for the dimmer (positive and negative).

i know the autodim function on mine just makes the display go to sleep after some time (alpine's explanation is that the energy then goes to the decoder hardware to increase sound quality, but i doubt most people can hear the difference).
