I just bought a Clarion DXZ745MP head unit to replace the stock Bose system in my non navigation TL. The wiring layout for the Clarion HU has a illumination wire (orange/white) whereas the wiring harness (Scosche HA08B for 1998 and up honda's) has two orange wires.. One is labeled dimmer (orange/white) and the other is labeled illumination/dash (orange). I'm planning on soldering the connections tomorrow. Should I connect what's documented, orange/white from HU to orange wire on harness since they both say illumination or should I ignore that and connect it based on the fact that orange/white goes to orange/white? I did a search and found a post where someone said that they had a problem with the dimmer in their car not working after hooking it up. Any advice short of try it out and see?

You need to connect the HU to the dimmer wire, not the illumination/dash/etc. the HU only need a signal to know when to dim it lights, and BTW this clarion Hu should let you adjust how much it dim
