aftermarket HU with stock speakers?

I have a 01 tl with stock speakers and two kickers and an amp. I want to change my HU so i can get better bass from my kickers. my question is if its a good idea to have an aftermarket HU and stock speakers. How could i hook up my stock speakers and stock amp to the aftermarket HU??

get a 70-1721 metra harness and a dash kit and youre set. hardest part is trying to pull the OEM radio out and not scratch anything. ive done plenty of OEM speakers/Aftermarket radio installs on these and they have turned out fine.

Thanks so much, I've heard from people that it is very hard to get the bose to work with an aftermarket HU. So after I plug the harness thats it, theres no need to mess with the wiring of the stock amp?

using the harness should take care of the stock amp/front/rear speakers. the harness will send signal to these components just like your factory head unit does. then you just run RCA's and a remote signal wire to your sub amp (along with the power/ground wires) and you're pretty much done...

o yeah theres no harness that im aware of that will allow you to use your bose sub. you need to determine which wire is the amp turn on and the signal wires. its been interfaced into so many times that there are plenty of tips out there how to retain factory sub.

Yeah, you could either try wiring the new sub to your HU or do what I did and take it as an opportunity to add an after market sub and disconnect the stock one.

you think 14x4 watts rms is good enough for factory speakers?
