Question Aftermarket alarm or Lo-Jack?

First question:
I have been wanting to get an aftermarket alarm. I do have 3 brands in mind:

1) Clifford Matrix RS3
2) LYNX 2000
3) VIPER 791XV

Anybody in this forums has any of this alarm? Can anyone give me some idea on what should I buy?

Second Question:
Can anybody give me some estimates on how much the installation will be? I really don't know where I can get the installation from Seattle area.

Thirs Question:
Is lo-Jack really useful? How much is it going to cost?

Thank you for the help in advance!

why not go with a factory alarm?

do you live in a city? if not why get lo-jack? unless there is a lot of crime in your area. also, check and see if lo-jack is covered in the areas that you drive.

Well, I am moving to Phoenix next year. From what I heard. Phoenix has the highest auto theft area, and my friend told me that stock alarm is never enough for honda and toyota in Phoenix area. Also, I really like the remote start option. Anybody has aftermarket alarm at all?

I have the matrix, the matrix and viper are the same thing, both made by dei. So your just getting a different name on the back of the remote. Before you get lo-jack, your better off getting the GPS add on with the matrix or the viper. Heard the GPS works better than lo-jack, because lo-jack doesn't reach every single area, it's kinda like a cell phone, your car might end up in a dead zone where there's no service.

Thanks Fiya. Do you know where I can get the GPS add-on? What other add on do you have on your alarm? It's really hard to find a dealer in WA who sells Clifford Matrix alarm. They only have "crimestopper", which my friends don't recomment...

I have a Clifford Intelliguard 8000 w/ Omni Sensor.
Lo Jack is good if you want your car back after someone steals it. If someone stole mine, I wouldnt want it back.

Alarm/Lo-Jack

Hi I'm a auto accessories installer in new york for a Honda dealer and I just got to say I'd go with the Viper 791 but not the Lo-Jack if you want to keep your car you need to get the Automate GPS system with the 791 both are made by DEI and when you install them you will be able to control your 791 by phone you can start the car lock or unlock the doors and even track your car by phone or over the net and if your alarm goes off it will even call you goto http://www.directed.com/press/multim...DCAST_100k.wmv to download a news clip about it and as for price we have a package deal $1,200 for both installed but I'm in NY you mite be able to find it cheaper in your area here $1,200 is a good pire when you consider the 791 goes for $900 here I hope I helped
