AEM Pulley kit and subs??

I have the AEM pulley kit installed in my CL-S. Would it be a problem if I installed the following:

-Rockford Fosgate BD1000 amp
-2 12" HE subs
-dual ported box

Anybody with a similar setup?

Need help...don't want my car to die on me

You will be fine. I had more power in my TLS and i had pulleys and no problems. I would get a cap though....

What is a "cap"? I'm quite new to the aftermarket audio scene

A cap is a capacitor....when the amp needs more power..it takes that power from the capacitor instead of the battery...basically if you didn't have a cap..your lights would probably be dimming everytime the bass hit...depends on how powerful your amp is though...

From the little research that I've done, I've been given the impression that the BD1000 is the mother of all amps right now. What do you think?

RF BD1000.1

Ever since Rockford has taken over MB quart and other smaller audio companies they have progressed into a powerful and intelligent Audio sourcs...whether their the best out there is questionable, but features and their importance vary amonget users. THD and ability to perform under variable voltage ranges and ability to reproduce signals at higher dB...I have not played with the amp or have seen a review but from what I heard you have a pretty good amp there buddy...I would check out the amperes required for the amp and call AEM and check the new ampere output of the alternatoer with pulleys..I am sure you will be ok...a capicator would solidify the system for the big booms!!!

Oops, change of plans. Went with a lower amp(some 4xx thingamajig) to power the 2 12's in the back plus an additional smaller amp to power the Type R speakers in the front.

Price increase was only about $350 CAD to downgrade from the bd1000 and throw in front speakers and a second amp for them.

I don't intend to crank it. I'm looking more for better sound quality over the stock system than a loud thumping in the trunk
