Adding new speakers and amplifier

Can I add new speakers and a high powered amp to my RL using the audio system that came with the car?

I have a 2006 Acura TL and inhad utilized the factory wiring harness to wire in a replacement aftermarket amp and sub in the rear deck. But if you want more power you will have to run new wiring etc...

Yes you can but like GyroMike said, you'll have to run new wires etc. Depending on how high powered it is, you may want to consider an upgraded alternator too. I'm putting a 240amp in my TL. In order to utilize all the functions of your factory system, you'll want a fairly good hi/lo converter. Yes you can get a cheap converter for $10 but I've had one like it in my old Civic and it lacks so many features and didn't allow me to adjust any of the signals. I would recommend using the JL Audio Clean Sweep Interface, and have it tied in before the factory amplifier so signals aren't getting mixed. That's what I'm doing in my TL.
