Adding an amp to power TSX 6x9's

I have some aftermarket 6x9's and want to power them with something better than a TSX amp. I don't know if there's something good with a LOC already in it or not. But prettty much I'm looking for something to power the 6x9's right now and possibly all the other components later.

Any recommendations?

Remember that the TSX by-nines only receive a low-passed, bass-only signal.

So if you use the speaker level outputs of the TSX amp to the new amp, you will have bass only.

If you want to have an amp that taps the full-range preouts from the HU to the amp, you may have problems in the interaction of the OEM amp and the new amp on the same outputs.

Yea, I remember when installing them they told me that I'll only get the low signals. So I can't use the full range. Either way that's fine with me because I'd prefer some more bass without adding a sub.

I was imagining a 200W 2 channel amp or something of that nature.

You run that much power to any 6x9s playing as woofers and they will make unmusical bottoming out noises.

So something like 80 W per channel

Will do that? My 6x9's are rated 80W nominal though.

These are my speakers

I've posted my experiences with 6x9 woofers many times in the past.

It's my professional opinion that anyone who upgrades the amp can easily find the excursion limits of any 6x9 used as a woofer in this car.

We have done 6x9 upgrades with amp upgrades, but only for certain customers -the 10" in the corner of the trunk seems to be a far better choice.

Especially, demographically speaking, a young male - since he's unlikely to listen to classical and jazz. He's likely, demographically speaking, to play hip-hop and other current popular music with a lot of processed bass.

Agreed. I guess I for one just don't want to add a sub... yet.

Thanks for your input. I guess I'll have to calulate everything out before attempting to do this install. However I guess once I get that 12v line through I can add a sub with a bit mroe ease.
