Yup, can definitely be done. You can't just hook it to the horn wire however or else your siren will turn on everytime you beep the horn. I'd have to double check the wire, but there is a wire from the factory security system that outputs a negative signal when active that will control your siren.

Dont forget the siren will also sound funny because the horn is powered in pulses when the stock alarm is tripped.

Electronic 101 tells me that even with a relay, the pulsation will cause the relay to be on/off....on/off...just like the pulse thus the siren...so you end up the same as you were connecting directly to the horn....so you get your "problem" back streeteffect

randomwalk,
StreetEffect is right, latching relay is different than the normal relays that you've been using. Once an input is trigger, latching relay will turn on the output.
You need to take Electronic 201 now

But then once the latching relay is latched, the siren will go on and on and will never stop !!

Edward,
Not really, you can get a timed latching relay which will disengage after a preset time.

Hmm...but....even with all the fancy latched, timed delay relays and all, if you wire it to the horn, everytime to press the horn button, the siren will go off....so u get your problem back

I'm sure the factory alarm has a grounded output when triggered which you can use for ANY siren. That's how they work anyway....one side of the siren gets hooked to a constant 12V, and the other side to a triggered ground from the alarm.

Wow, that would be so cool. Everytime I want to pass someone, I horn and the siren goes off. Can't wait to see other drivers' reaction when I do that
