Im kinda wondering about the Pioneer AVIC-D1, because I dont want my system stolen again so I was wonderin has anyone just and a sub and door speakers to there stock headunit. Can I also put an amp to my highs as well as my sub with the stock head unit...Has anyone done that and how good does it sound?

so no one has done this i know a lot of people put a sub to there stock headunit i just dont want to get my shit stolen again if they see a aftermarket head unit in my car, all i want is a little better sound quality then the stock bose and i just want to add a 8 inch sub inbetween the seats

 

Get an aftermarket alarm first.

 

There's better solutions to theft than compensating the sound quality in your car with a stock headunit. The thread subject at hand was if not getting a headunit would sound good. The answer is no. The question should've been "should I get an alarm"; for the aforementioned reasons, the answer is yes.

No one knows what the driving factor for you getting a system even is. The stock system sucks. With replacement speakers and an added sub you might achieve what you're looking for. Who knows. Figure that out first.
