I thought someone was going to say that. The problem was that I dropped off my stuff to get installed. Everything else got installed but they said the 6X9's wouldn't fit. Then they said that I needed to get 5X7's in a custom plate. I just told them to give them back and I'll try to do it myself because I know that people have 6X9's in their CL's.

i have a pair of 6x9's in my 97 cl...it was a real bitch getting them screwed in there, and i could really only get 3 of the 4 screws in (back corner is really tight to work in...any suggestions how to get that last screw in/what tool to use?!?!?!)
Well, I tried yesterday to put the Kicker 6X9's in. There is no way in hell those things are going in even with spacers. They are just too damn big. I figured it out and I am going to put my old Kicker 6.5" coaxials with speakers brackets in the rear deck. They should be good enough for fillers.
With my MB Quart, I ended up pulling the bars a little so they didn't hit the magnet anymore, trunk still opens fine too.

Try spacers. I have JBL GTO930 6x9. They fit fine but the magnets are small, though.
