99 TL w/6 disc in-dash???

I have a 99 TL with the CD player problems that have been documented in this forum. Therefore, I am going to replace my deck, but want to keep it stock.

Is it possible for the new 6 disc in-dash CD changers to fit into my 99?

Additionally, if anyone has a stock deck for sale that actually plays CD/CD-R's without the "track-up" problems, let me know.

Thanks.

yah everyone pretty much before '02 has the track up problems with burned CD's, ive only found one brand of CDR that works no matter what, and thats the Memorex standard, white top with purple print, i think green burning surface...

Yes, you can do the swap, if you want to pay the $$$, the only extra thing you have to do it also swap the CD holder with the new style "card and pen holder" because the changer is a little deeper and needs the extra room.

I'll be selling the stock 6-disc in-dash changer unit when my MDX comes in February. If it'll fit your car, e-mail me. crimsonidol@hotmail.com

I have a 2002 TL and doesn't matter what brand of CDR I use, I never have any problem with not being able to read it or skip or whatever...one thing I must admit is stock HU sucks big time comparing to aftermarket...but that is just a fact from the beginning of time anyways.
BTW, you can buy stock HU for about $100...used one. A lot of people yank it out and let it sits collect dusts. I even found one at the junk yard for $50...
