Hey guys so I'm picking up a 99 TL tonight and first thing I want to do is put in a aftermarket head unit preferably one with a DVD player. The car has the stock Navi with the cd player and stuff underneath. Would this mean that I would have two sceens in my car? one for the DVD and one for the Navi?

yes pretty much. i really recommend you find the DVD navigation unit (one in the trunk) from a 2001 - 2003 TL or CL. if you have the original hard drive unit then you will not be happy. the best part is the dvd unit is a 100% direct swap - same connectors and everything. it works much better than the hard drive unit

but back to your question, yes you can put an aftermarket unit in there w/o causing an issue with the stock navigation system

i really think you would have to stay with the unit from the 01-03 (like you listed) because the whole system changed in the gen 3 TL.
but yes get what you linked too - just make sure they give you the security code. or if they dont have it confirm with your local dealer if they are ok to look it up for you. that is what I had to do - I took the unit and paypal ticket to the dealer and they gave me the security code for the new DVD unit.
