6.5 or 5.25 speakers dont fit in front doors?
i just pulled my front door panel and was about to replace them with some components...so far i tried polks sr6500 6.5, cdt 5.25, and even some infinity kappa 6.5...non of the basket would clear the cl door. i realize i need to make some mdf baffles but it still seem too far out after putting the baffles..any suggestions?

I had Infinity Kappa Perfects [6.5] installed in my doors and they fit.
The baskets were big but they did fit after a little modification.
Looking back on it now, wish I wouldn't have installed them because I hate how they sound.

First shop kind of fugged things up so I had to take it to another shop to re-wire and re-install my crossovers.
So I can't exactly pinpoint how much the install was after that. Sorry.
I'm good man. I'm going to go a different route with my audio setup.

I have Boston Pro's in my front doors and they were way to deep to fit. I made a 3/4" wood spacer to make them fit. I built a bracket to put the crossovers about a foot away from the speakers. The door panel fits over everything just fine.

im running the 6.5 and 6x9 kappas they fit but you'll have to make a baffle for it. for me i only screw 2 in instead of all 4 took the basket out too. the rear i just threw them in there with a baffle everything fit fine. im thinking about mounting the crossovers under the dash somewhere.

i'm going to try to cut the tweeter side plastic alittle, but dont' want to mess with the fabric..just trying to figure out where to put everything. how about wiring? did you run 2 wires thru the door jams or just one, and the components..i have polk sr6500, and their crossover are huge!

pretty much you should have checked the mounting depth before you bought speakers. I had some nice 7" mids installed with mdf rings. Then did the research and bought some focal components that fit directly in. You could take a dremil and hack a bit away and make it fit yourself.

I've found the A-pillar to be the best tweeter location, if you can run there you'll likely find the soundstage and image presence to be quite strong. I use time alignment and active crossover to get it just right but even without that you can probably get the A-pillars to sound pretty good.
