hey guys ...quick question any of you put 6 1/2 mb quarts in the front with 1 inch mdf wood? If so do you have to put a seal around the wood or something...today i got my car back from the shop and when i washed my car there was water leaking from the speaker grill area inside the car on both sides

 

I mounted my boston 6.5 components with a 3/4" MDF spacer on top of dynamat and sealed it with clear silicone. Be careful with the MDF rings, if they get wet....they'll begin to warp and crack.

 

What car do you have?

As Musicbox has pointed out, water shields often need to be constructed to replace the OEM water shields. I don't think the TSX has much, the speaks are so shallow they don't protrude. I would make sure there aren't any breaks in the water barrier between the door panel and the inner door, too...
