4 12" subs... will it fit?
hey... i have 2 12" kicker solo's in a sealed box. my friend can get me two more with amp for a good price. but i dont know how to set it up in my trunk, cause i want to leave as much trunk space as possible. any ideas? i made a few sketches... i dont know how realistic they are, but the one im leaning towards is roughly the shape of "home plate" from a profile... it would actually be two identical boxes(to allow it to fit into the trunk), however one flipped... with the subs in each diaglike below...

or any other variation with those boxes.... my question is... will there be enough cubic volume inside the box for 2 solo L5's? also another idea i had that the audio place i go to said that i can put 2 more solos in the same box i have but have them inverted... so 2 cones in, 2 comes out.... anyone know how this would sound or how it would fit in my car???
any other ideas you all have would greatly help me... thanks in advance

hmmm you're not satisfied with two solo barics? i have two L7's powered by a 1400 watt PPI amp and its louder than ****...and i also don't think it's possible to have any trunk space with 4 12"s. If i were you, i'd just uprgrade to a higher wattage amp from the 600phoenix gold you have right now. The reason i'm not sure if you should go with 4 12"s is that, if you do, you better get some freakin crazy amps to power the subs, because if you're showing it off one day and FOUR subs only put out around 1000 watts...that's kind of sorry. And i always thought that with solobarics, you should at least power each sub 500 watts. However, if you do get the extra two subs, i'll give you props just for having 4 12"s.

If you go with sealed boxes them I'm sure you can do it. Keep in mind you'll definitely need another amp and if you get another amp you'll need a high output alternator. Its gonna cost you a few dollars to do. You might even want to add another battery.

MY friend has 4 12'' solo's in his 02 Corolla and in his 02 Accent, he has them setup in the same way, in the "V" shape. The 12's will be facing each other and it will resonate like crazy. He hit over 175 DB's at a local show!! This is just another idea though.

I believe the current world record is 175.1. It took 15 12" subs with 15 amps producing 30,000 watts.

I wouldnt get another battery unless you get a high output alternator because that'll just be another load on your stock alternator. If you do get a high output alternator, I would ditch the caps period and add the second battery. A high output alternator from Ohio Generator costs about $400. I plan on getting one eventually.
