Hey, I was thinking about taking out the stock sub in my 02 TL and replacing it with the 10" that is in a box in my trunk. Has anyone done this. I guess that I would need a spacer to fit the larger speaker.

i think a few guys did it, but it's a 9 inch sub back there, i heard people put in 10's with a lot of work, and i heard some people put in 8 inch subs with a bracket to make it fit right. what i was thinking about doing was add a center channel speaker there, and putting a sub in my trunk...

you would need to find a slim profile sub....i think there is only a couple out there...one is a kicker...forgot the model number...
i was thinking of replacing the stock with an aftermarket one too, but after reading a lot of posts, it's not worth it....just get a sub in the trunk...

yea, you would need to find a sub that is good in "free-air" application. I personally, dont think its worth the headache and the sub in teh trunk does sound way better

My problem with a sub in the trunk is that there is not a lot of sound.
I had the exact same setup im my 1st gen CL and when I moved the box and amp to my 2nd gen TL I lost a lot of Bass. I ended up re-attatching the stock sub to get a little more kick.
I was hoping that if I placed the aftermarket sub in the window I would get more response and trunk space
