2nd Gen TL Double-Din Bracket
I've looked around and basically surmised that there is no such thing as a bracket for a double din HU for my 2001 TL? I wanted to put a AVN5435 (Eclipse DVD/Navigation unit w/out a flipout screen) in my car and after checking out several places in town that all said there was no such bracket I decided to check here. I only found a few posts relating to it and it was quite some time ago so I was basically wondering if any manufactures have come up with a bracket recently?
I really despise the flip-out screens and wanted something to fill the spot of my factory radio. The local shop wants to charge me like ~600 bucks to custom fabricate me a bracket and I told them they were out of their minds. I realize that a lot of effort could go into that but thats just too much money. Anyways, I'm just trying to find out of I'm stuck with my factory unit or if there is an easier way to install this HU into my car.

nobody makes them except shops. there is a member here "streeteffectz" who has his own shop in new jersey. most of the members can agree that his work is incredible. he makes the dash kit for about 250 and i think he already has a mold so you can just place a order with him and he will send it to you.

unfortunately your options are limited. Either you can order one through StreetEffectz, or go down to your local shop and have them make a custom dashkit for you.

here is a picture of my faceplate.. the picture is not that great.. still waiting on the other wood trim to come in but here is a quick pic to give you an idea.. took me like a week of working on it here and there and about $40 in materials.. turned out pretty good...
