2009 Alpine Type-S Speakers

I've searched the forum up and down regarding Alpine Type-S speakers. Unfortunately they are regarding the older models which had a higher sensitivity rating (92db). Looking at the new speaker models now, they have a sensitivity ranging from (88-90db) depending on the model. I want to upgrade my speakers but use the factory amp. The rule seems to be that the higher the sensitivity the better. So has anyone tried the new Alpine speakers anyways? If not, what is everyone using these days? Any recommendations? Thanks all!

Remember, a higher sensitivity means there were compromises made to achieve it. For instance, generally a higher sensitivity means less low frequency extension.

The best thing you can do to choose a speaker is go out and listen to them yourself. Choose the one's that sound best to you, despite any ratings or recommendations by others. You will quickly find that speaker preference is a very subjective thing. For example, I've yet to hear a good sounding set of Focal or Boston speaker. My favorites are made by Diamond Audio.
