MISC: 2006 CSX NAV Aux Input
I've spent several hours looking but have not found the best solution yet - hopefully someone here has experience with this.
My wife drives a 2006 CSX w/ NAV. Her birthday is coming up. My main mission is to get an aux input so she can listen to podcasts on her commute through the car's speakers. Secondary is to make use of the steering wheel hands-free buttons that never worked.
In '07, Acura added the AUX input. I've seen some "replacement" 3.5mm ports on amazon which in theory would get close to factory look.
Min:
- 3.5mm AUX input
Nice-to-haves:
- Bluetooth
- "factory" look (was it mounted under the 12V plug in later models?
- USB port to read USB key etc.
I must be dreaming:
- steering wheel control
- Some sort of call integration with existing steering wheel buttons
- Some Android Auto type compatibility
Most of the adapters I've seen offer iPhone options but we're an android family.
I've always been confounded by the fact that there are buttons on the wheel that would imply basic hands-free link but have never been able to get it to work. I always assumed there was a missing module there.
I don't want to spend too much given I'm not sure how much life we'll get out of this ride.
Ideas?
