I got chance to test drive the new TL yesterday, and was wonder if it was possible to change out the speakers and add amp, and still keep the whole DVD audio thing going. The system didnt sound bad at all. It was nice and smooth but again it ddint get loud. Great upgrade from Blose. I am thinkg the trunk got a little smaller though.

 

Yes the trunk got A LOT smaller - about two cubic feet I believe. Kind of difficult to put some serious bass in the trunk now, but maybe the system sounds good enough to where most owners wouldn't even bother with an upgrade.

Would you compare the sound to a decent aftermarket install, except for the loudness factor?

 

Yes I would compare it to alot of aftermarket systems. Just wish it was louder. It has indivdual controls like the Bass, Treble, Subwoofer, and Center channel. I liked it much better than the Mark Levinson to. About time those acura engineers got reading on the Acura-tl.com forums.

 

 

For anyone that's used the system, does it display CD text or radio station ID info?
