Recently the dvd drive in my 2004 acura tl stopped working. I checked it by listening to the drive after the car was turned to acc and you can hear the drive trying to spin up but then slowing and stopping. I am fairly sure that I need to replace it but I can't spend the 300 - 400 dollars it takes to get a new drive. A friend of mine suggested that I try to get one from the junkyard which would only be 15 - 25 dollars. When I checked the yards around me they don't get acuras in very often and even less often do they get TLs. Does anyone know is the same dvd drive that was used on the 2004 Tl was used on any other model of acura?

 

I actually have the dvd rom drive but you would have to get the optical drive cuz mine was messed up too when I purchased the car the navi disc was stuck in the optical and I had to pull it out with pliers
