2003 TL type s. Bose EQ

Hey Everyone, my first post--thanks for reading.

My question is this: If I've already had the stock HU taken out and a new aftermarket HU put in, does that mean the Bose EQ is out as well? In other words-is the Bose EQ attached to the Bose HU.

Thanks!

By using the adapter mentioned above, would that be compatible for an aftermarket sub as well, or just the factory one? I'm having issues with aftermarket speakers vs the bose setup. I think it has something to do with the preamps? The sound sucks with aftermarket speakers right now...
