2001 TL factory sub amp
So I swapped out the factory sub today and replaced it with a Pioneer TS-8 or something like that. Was gonna add an aftermarket amp but when I went to pull out the factory amp it had 100w printed on it. I'm assuming that it's 100w when wired in 2 ohms but just curious is that 100 rms or peak?? It actually sounds pretty good as is but I may replace the amp if it's not really going at 100w.

where is there a factory sub located ? Most amp makers post the max power of the amp on the outside. for exaple theres some 1000w max amp that only run 560rms or soemthing like that. RMS is all thats important. 100 watts is really weak. i have 1000 rms going to my subs and they ask for 1200 max.

The factory amp is located in the back behind the rear seat. It's on the passenger side. Suggest taking out the bottom seat first to avoid scratching it w the top part. The sub I installed in the rear deck only handles 150RMS so 100w would be perfect. But the factory sub is 2 ohms so I'm sure I'm only getting 50w out of the thing. It's pretty tiny too if you see it it's actually pretty cool.
