2001 TL Alarm Lock/Unlock Wire Question

hi everyone. i've been staring at my driver's door for almost an hour and a half looking for the lock/unlock wire. i know the diy says it near the lock module but i do not see the black/blue and the orange wires. i tried to be careful not to tear the plastic but now it all off looking for the lock/unlock wire. i also need to find the factory disarm wire also. the last time i installed an alarm is in 1998. Thanks in advance

I installed one in my 2003 and I didn't have to go to the driver door. I found a lot of good info here: http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/....asp~TID~57519

You don't need disarm line. The alarm disarms with unlock, so just make sure you wire the unlock.

You should find what you need in the passenger fuse box.

Good luck.

going to the passenger fuse box may not be as reliable as goin directly to the module in the drivers door. When I first started installing I remember a guy tried to do his own TL alarm and he went to the passeneger fuse box, well lets just say after a bunch of blown fuses later we went straight to the module and have never had a problem(in my car aswell, a 1999).

I have never had a problem finding the wires even up to 07 Tl's, I go to the same place every time. And save yourself the headache of finding out later that your factory alarm goes off, just grab the disarm wire, if you dont use it then oh well.

My final question is ARE YOU USING A DIGITAL MULTIMETER???

if not go get one from canadian tire(part source) for like 30 bucks.

also try bulldogsecurity.com for wire colors specific to your year! or the12volt.com

both are excellent

in my THE BOOK (installer know what I'm talking about) it says....
unlock green/red inside drivers door
lock Black/White inside drivers door
disarm Black/blue Passenger under dash relay 24pin blue connector or driver door module.

HOPE I HELPED
