TL: 1999, no radio code, replace radio?

1999, no radio code, replace radio?
What a headache.
Okay, so typical story, I guess... I had to replace my battery, which of course reset my radio, so I have to enter the radio code. Which I don't have.
Called up the dealership where I bought the car used, they don't have the code on file. Took off the molding on the passenger side to reveal the serial number of the radio... provided that to the dealership, it shows up as "code unavailable". In order to be 100% sure it was the right serial number, I took out the radio and compared the label on the bottom of the radio -- it was the same/correct serial number.
Since I had the radio out, I went in-person to the dealership to see if there was anything they could do. They said they'll call up honda in order to retrieve the radio code. A few days later, they got back to me and asked me to try the code -- it didn't work.
I tried multiple times because I've read about how sometimes people had to enter it a few times (i entered it at least a dozen times). Next, i tried disconnecting the antenna before entering the code (even though I read it was only for the '02 models) -- no luck.
So... unless anyone has any other ideas. Looks like I'm SOL and need to replace my radio if I want some music...
That leads me to my main question, i guess... the radio in my '99 TL is an "integrated" radio, correct? So, I can only replace it with a honda/acura radio? Any tips/links to where i can get a relatively cheap one? p.s. i'm from canada
What a headache.
Thanks.

I should also mention I couldn't use the website to retrieve the code because I'm from canada so I couldn't really fill out the form, etc.
And I tried calling up acura canada, they couldn't help either.
