I have experienced ALL of the exact same problems with the iSimple.

Here is what I have learned after contacting support many times.

Version .25 software:
• 99% of the time you start the car, the top display will display nothing.
• When you press the Audio Screen button to display the audio screen, it will show for two seconds and then go back to the previous screen. You must cycle through the radio modes once, sometimes twice before the iSimple corrects itself and displays the proper text and displays the audio screen.
• The word IPOD is not displayed on the main audio screen. "---" is displayed instead.
• The artist and song title appear in the top display when the song changes, and then goes back to XM CH-01 01.

Version .26 software:
• You will always get "XM LOADING" in the top display.
• 10% of the time you start your car, the top display will display nothing, and Audio screen with not display properly as described above. Seems as if they "sort of corrected the problem with cycling through the modes.
• The word IPOD is displayed on the main audio screen.

Regardless of the software versions the sound is considerably softer, than CD volume, XM, Radio, Aux. etc..

I have tried MANY MANY resets as suggested, with no results.

When I first asked support about the XM loading problem, the response I got was "This was not fully tested on that model of Acura"

As for my opinion, I am a software engineer, and from my perspective, these problems are NOT hard to fix. There is no reason why the top display can’t display the artist and song title continuously, or the Audio modes have to be cycled every time you turn the car on, or the volume is so low.

I believe this is all a result of "lazy engineering."

I wish I had access to the source code that is running the iSimple so I could resolve the bugs that plague this product.

Update:

I sent my suggestions to Peripheral and this was there response (timely as always):

"I’ll forward the info to the programmers but I can guarantee we can not raise the volume on the PXAMG we are at MAX and will overdrive the radio if raised any more (we have already been down that road)."

Thanks,

Tony is an awesome tech. Always willing to help. I'm going to start a group buy on these and hopefully we can get these bugs with the TSX squared away.
