'06 TSX Speaker Replacment questions???
I'm a new poster but I've been reading the threads since before getting my TSX 3 months ago.
I'm wanting to replace my stock front door & rear deck speakers. I don't listen to music with excessive bass though I would like the bass to be clearer, I'd also like the overall sound to be significantly cleaner and hopefully just as loud if not louder. I think I've read every post involving swapping the speakers but what I'm looking for is an overall opinion. I've swapped speakers before but it was on a much simpler car ('95 F-150) so I know I can handle the actual installation, its the question of the selection of components. Here's what I've been looking at:
Option 1:
F: Alpine Component Type-S
R: Alpine Type-R
Option 2:
F: Polk MMC-6500 Component
R: Alpine Type-R or Type-S
Option 3:
F: Alpine Component Type-S
R: Alpine Type-S
0ption 4:
F: non-component version of one of the above, whatever you suggest
R: whatever you guys suggest
Thanks for your help

I think the most common replacement scheme has been #3. Its one I've looked into myself but haven't executed on yet.
I'd be interested in any good ideas for speakers that haven't been widely discussed here before as replacements. We hear about the Type-S's all the time (prolly shouldn't go type-r unless upgrading the amp too) and some Polks and BAs, but what about others? Anyone have another recommendation for 6.5" components and in-ones to use as drop-ins?
Lets get some recommendations for #4.

Worth every penny. I bought mine in '98 and the sound still amazes me every day.

What kind of budget are you on, and are you confining yourself to CC components?
