'03 TL - Clicking sound from CD player - Er-E1

Hey, fellas.

I need your help with my CD player.

All of a sudden last night, it stopped working. Every time I try to play or eject a CD, it makes this rapid clicking noise for about 10 seconds or so then displays the Er-E1 error code.

The radio plays just fine. It just refuses to play or eject CDs.

Got any tips or solutions?? Please help!

Thank you.

This is a common problem with these units. Mine use to do this and i never found a sure fire way of getting it to work. Sometimes pulling the fuse, sometimes holding down the eject while powering it on and other times just pounding on the dash on the side of the unit. Real frustrating and it WILL keep doing it from time to time.

Best bet is replace the deck or do what many of us have done and get the blitzsafe and use your MP3 player.

You guys have gotta be kidding me.

I will try that when I get off work today. Hahaha.

Btw, more than 6 and a half years of owning this car and this is the first time it's done this. I guess she really is getting old and showing her age now.

It worked. I had to try a couple of times, but it worked. Haha. Thanks for the tips, guys!

Who, or what, is "rive"? Got a web site?

Bro no disrespect but, even if you get it fixed it will probably happen again. I had done all those tricks and banged it on the side and sometimes it would work but most often would not. After a disc was stuck for over 2 weeks I had to use a paper clip to fish 2 discs out and that was the end of the CD changers life. I spent like $80 on an aux-in & little time plugging it in to the back of the stock radio and could not be happier. Personal mp3 play-lists with thousands of songs vs. cd's that get stuck seems like a no-brainer. If you really love cd's you might use the cash toward a new cd deck. Good luck either way man-
