During a rainstorm of biblical proportions, I left my sunroof cracked. The interior was completely soaked, and my 6-disc Bose system has been flaky ever since. The Acura dealership in Tulsa, OK is pretty worthless and they sent me over to a custom stereo shop...they said they could pull the unit, send it somewhere to be rebuilt...for about $500. That's better than the $1000 the dealership wants for a new one, but does anyone know where I could pick one up cheaper? I followed a link to one of the Acura parts websites, but they wanted about $800 for a new unit.
Someone please tell me that my brain-far! isn't going to cost me $500-1000

Check eBay, you can get a unit from the 99-03 TL and they'll work fine. Note that the 99 and 00 (maybe 01, I can't remember) are not 6-disc, only one, and they suck with playing CDRs. Still, an old single-disc unit for $50 or less is better than no unit at all, at least to me...

I'm in the process of trying to find a 6 disc to upgrade... I see theres one on eBay now, but it may be a CL, which, from what I understand, needs an external amplifier that our TLs don't have...
