02 TL - aftermarket deck without changing the speakers?

I have a 2002 TL...I went to some car audio shop and they told me if i want to put those aftermarket MP3 player into my car, i need to change all the speakers. is it true?
and if i don't have to change the speakers, will the aftermarket deck make my factory speakers sound a lot better?..or it won't be much different?

i put an alpine in my 2002 tl and keep the stock bose speakers. so it can be done. as for the sound quality it all depends on what kind of head unit you have. my alpine has improved the sound of the stock cause i am able to tweak it using all the tools the HU has to offer.

No, you do not have to change the speakers to install an aftermarket head unit. You will loose the stock sub and the steering wheel controls. I am not sure if it sounds alot better than the stock head unit but, it is a good starting point to a much better than stock system.

Buy a wiring harness for a 98 and up Honda and you just plug it into the factory plug. You then wire the color coded wires from the harness to your radio and you are set.

i jsut put the alpine d310 in my car and the highs sound much better, but if u turn up the volume they begin to sound garbled. definatly need to upgrade the speakers. you will not be satisfied. im lookin for a good brand at a reasonable price right now.
