I'm trying to put a clarion touch screen dvd player into my 01 cls but need help first.

I went to Best Buy to buy the wiring harness and dash kit but the audio tech. said that i have to bypass the bose stock amplifier in order to install the dvd player. He said that i have to run new wires to each speaker.

I spoke to a friend and he said that their is a harness that i can get to utilize the stock amp. w/ the dvd player.

Has anyone put in a radio or dvd player in their car? How?

for the price of the bose amp harness, you might as well get new speakers

 

Just buy the metra wiring harness it has a built in bypass.. Only place I found it was Crutchfield. And at that token I had to call them b/c it didn't show on their website..

 

You do not need to bypass the amp, they do not know what they are talking about just get the rugular metra harness and kit from any stereo shop and use the blue/white off the radio and connect it to the blue white on the metra plug (OR BLUE) match all the speaker and power leads and your done and using the factory amp.
