looks amazing... from all the kickpanels i seen, on Car audio boards and such, they look pretty fugly.. but i would def. put those in my car.
btw, how much for something like that? is it for people who dotn want to drill in tweeters?

Well done work... I personally wouldn't do it to MY 6MT, but well done.
I am now even more interested in doing the 1" dome tweet/3" dome mid kicks in our 5AT (don't need no stinking dead pedal!)

With these being located so low to the floor...does it produce better sound quality than say...having the same tweeter and separate mid up near the dash where the stock location is?
Yep...i'm an audio

The purpose of kick panel-mounted speakers is to get the speakers:
1) Both in front of you,
2) Almost the same distance away from the listener
3) Angled to throw the image up high in the windshield.
If a tweeter that plays low into the midrange is put into the TSX, it can create *SOME* of this front effect... but nowhere near what well-executed kick panel-mounted speakers can sound like.
Due to their angle, they just don't sound like they are low. May seem counter-intuitive, but that's how it works.
It's hard to get midbass out of KPs with smaller drivers, so the OEM locations are often used in this kind of setup for 6.5"s... the DLS IASCA winning car I heard at CES had smaller KPs with the dome mid and dome tweet in them, and then the 6.5"s playing midbass only in the door (like 800 and down, I think, but I'm guessing and I'm tired...)

Seriously, where was the hood release relocated? Is there any easy way to access the fuse panel behind the driver's side kick? Now that I've seen it done, I'm with el...I want to run a three-way set-up with either Morel or Dynaudio!

Now that I'mnot so tired...
Sound travels relatively slowly.
When listening to stero, there are two effects of being off-center (i.e., being closer to one speaker than another), and both of these have to do with imaging, especially *center* imaging:
1) Proximity. The closer speaker sounds louder. Can be fixed with the balance control, but rarely is : )
2) Precedence. The closer speaker's signals arrive sooner than the farther speakers' signals. This can be fixed with "time alignment" or "time correction".
But many audiophiles believe the less processing, the better, and prefer a physical solution to the proximity problem rather than a DSP solution. (In truth, I do as well, but I understand that DSP works pretty well and Kicks are rarely an option).
Time alignment can't affect the mechanical dispersion characteristics of a speaker, so the aiming of the speakers in the kick, and the resulting imaging up high, is still not replicable in digital processing.
that looks sick streeteffectz, definately wouldn't work with a6mt though.
any estimates on how much it would cost to get custom door panels that could support dual speakers in both door?
