Many days!!!

The car was in the shop on a Monday and I picked it up on thursday.

But the custom piece was still not done yet. So I had to wait for it to be completed and the guy went out of town. But basically he took my stock piece and put all of the measurements into autocad and had a 3 dimensional drawing of it. Then he put in the specs for the Screen and the center channel. Once he did all that then he had to wait on a special plastic so that it could be painted to match. Then a machine carved this piece from a big block of ABS. He is working on a single and double din also.

Could you give me the # to the place that made the dash piece? I'm interested in ordering a bunch of them.

THANKS!

Looks really good....nice how they made it fit like the factory radio.

Looks good. I like how the rounded corners compliment eachother on the deck and speaker. The dash piece fits very nicely too!

Just curious Pimp y didn't you put the 7300 on the bottom? I have mine on the bottom and it fits perfect. The screen won't block any of the controls on top.

If it was on the bottom, then it would block the center channel, no?

Pimp can you play an audio CD and watch the cool 3-d screen saver at the same time? I can only get it to work with the tuner, if an audio cd is playing, it just shows the track and CD options on a primarily bluescreen. any advice?

For those of you with the Pioneer DVD, how much did you guys pay for it? Is it touchscreen? Can you play a DVD and listen to another source at the same time? Finally, can it play CDRW? My Alpine can't play CDRW but I think the CD Changer is able to play em. I got a friend who wants either the Pioneer or the new Kenwood.

ok, it is NOT touchscreen but who needs that anyways ... =) Yes, it can play CD-RW's and CD-R's as long as the CD is finalized. If it were me going between the pioneer and the kenwood, I would absolutley go with the pioneer. I mean BY FAR the display is one of the best that I have seen and I have heard the touchscreen on the kenwood starts to get dead pixels or blur on the areas that you touch the most. But seriously, there IS a reason most of the members here have the pioneer unit.

Then the screen would block the Center Channel. I was also thinking about getting the PD6 I think it is, which is the indash Pioneer 6 dash changer instead of the center channel and that too would be blocked if the screen is on the bottom.

I don't usually play an audio CD in the indash unit. I have a 12 disc changer in the trunk that I play cd's with. It has a better display, but still not animations.
