Draft Threads

I wanted to revisit an idea I had a long time ago, Draft Threads.

I wish we had the ability to create a thread and save it as a draft so I can come back to it later and finish it up before I publish it to the board.

The areas that would potentially see the greatest benefit of this are DIY threads, Black Market, threads reviewing a product. Namely threads where there is a lot of information that you want to convey but may not have all the time in the world to type out right now. It also gets around the problem of people complaining they don't have enough edit time, well now you'd be able to take as much time as you want to ensure the first post for a thread is strong before you publish the thread. And for those photographers that have tons of pictures they want to upload, they can take more time formatting the thread before they publish it.

And if we are concerned with people creating a bunch of draft threads and never doing anything with them, we could set up a rule that draft threads expire after X number of days.

I was wishing we had this last night lol. I had to save everything to MS word. It would be a huge benefit to COTM forum for me cause I have to have everything ready to go at midnight to closing the submission thread then opening the voting thread.

That does work, but being able to build the thread using forum coding for images, URLs, etc and being able to preview it, save it and mkae more changes trumps all IMHO.
