The road rally idea seems to be dead. Those of you who are local maybe we can do this route on our own time sometime.

The date has been set by vote to Sunday, August 15th. My car goes in for work that Thursday hopefully I will get it back by that Sunday.

 

What did your car do to you? It cannot miss this important date!!

 

will there be any caravan?

 

It's doubtful unless something "spur of the moment" comes up. The planned caravans/rallys seem to have been voted down.

Perhaps some can stay at the beach and others go on the drive. That is always an option.

As far as caravans down from LA to SD.. I haven't heard.

 

It's having brake issues. It should just be a 24 hr repair but one never knows. I could be the joke of the group in my rental RSX.

 

Ok, the most current info on the meet is posted on the meet site at http://www.stevestr.org/scom.

Basically you will have a choice for lunch. You can bring your own to cook @ the beach for a $2 charcoal donation or you can pre-order your lunch via PayPal and we will bring it and cook it for you.

Take a look at the site for details. T minus 16 days.

 

Important!

The lunch plans have changed. This is now going to be a BYO for the lunch. You can either cook it there or stop by and bring fast food.

I just bought my new TSX a couple weeks ago. I love it.

I saw the info about the meet on 08/15. I'll be there. BTW - nice website.

I'm in Irvine (Orange County). I think it would be a great idea for all the LA/OC people to meet up then we can head down there altogether. Those of you who are interested, either PM me directly or reply to this. I'm thinking Irvine Spectrum off the 5 freeway will be a good gather up place, since it's also on the way to SD, but if you have a better place in mind, please let me know.

The Spectrum sounds good 2 me. Keep me posted.

 

Spectrum is good because it is between the 405 and the 5. People from either freeway can meet there. Parking may be tight unless you park in the back 40.

Another place is in Irvine/Tustin (Tustin Marketplace?) off the 5 (I think) at Jamboree where the old Ikea used to be. It (unless Ikea has been replaced) has a huge, empty parking area and I have never been harassed there before when hosting meets.

 

sorry guess i will have to take a rain check on this meet things have come up and i will also be getting read for a show on aug.29 in irwindale at the formula drift. i will have my car there .

 

do you know what time it starts, and how much is the entrance tickets? couple of my friends are interested in the drift thing

 

it starts at 3 p.m. -10p.m. they also teamed up with hot import nights and going to do night drifting also.

Stevestr, would you mind listing out the people attending this SD meet for us and where they are coming from if possible? Then I can gather up the LA/OC caravan down to the main meet location. Gather up location will be @ IRVINE SPECTRUM, which is probably the easiest place to find (directions will be PM'd to you once I get the # of LA/OC people who want to meet up first)

Ok, for those of you from LA/OC area who are interested in gathering up first before heading down to the main meet, here are the directions

If you are coming from I-5 freeway: (Riverside, San Bernadino, East LA)
1. Take I-5 S/San Diego
2. Take the exit towards ALTON PKWY.
3. Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp.
4. Stay straight to go onto FORTUNE DR.

If you are coming from the 405 freeway: (Santa Monica, West LA, Van Nuys)
1. Take the I-405 S/SAN DIEGO FWY SOUTH.
2. Take the IRVINE CENTER DR exit.
3. Keep LEFT at the fork in the ramp.
4. Turn LEFT onto IRVINE CENTER DR.
5. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto ENTERPRISE.
6. Turn LEFT onto FORTUNE DR.

That entire plaza is Irvine Spectrum, the place we're meeting is Dave & Buster's aka D&B, it is on the backside of Irvine Spectrum right next to the huge parking lot (there is a Barnes n Nobles nearby). We will meet up on Sunday 8/15/04 @ 12:00pm at the main front door of D&B.

I'll be leaving Mission Bay on Sunday at 12pm, so I should be in Coronado 30 minutes later (stopping to buy lunch).

I'm planning on getting there at 1pm. However, my the doctor just told our family that our grandmother (82) will be passing in the next few days. If something comes up, I may not be able to show. BTW, does anyone know if it will rain Sunday?

 

It never rains in San Diego. Well it does, but very rarely. Last I checked the forecast was calling for mostly cloudy skies.

Ok its on for tomorrow! We'll need someone to bring sand tools, a small bag of charcoal, and maybe some grill tools. The finalized info is posted on the site @ http://www.stevestr.org/scom.

 

I'll take some sand tools. I can also take bbq tools, but I won't be there until 1ish.

 

I'm planning to be at the beach no later than 9 or 9:30. I can't guarantee how many spaces will be available - today at 1 pm lots 2 and 3 were full but lot 1 was empty - perhaps they opened it for the overflow.

In any case, look for the CG TSX. It will have a whale tail tag on it and a scratched rear bumper. I'll probably be either working on the car or down at the beach.

DJ (Jeremy) is not sure if he will make it or not. He has a full cast on his arm which makes it impossible to drive. I offered to come get him. Perhaps we can (er um) twist his arm and get him to make an appearance. He pushed so hard to have this meet in Coronado and it would be a shame if he had to miss it. (Perhaps Slo can help me out with this. )
