Hey guys.. quick question on the Location of PAA...

How close is it to Wycoff, NJ. I have an Uncle that lives in Wycoff.

I would love to try and come out to one of these PAA Meets, this year dosen't work out because It's the weekend of the CFA exam...

PAA is in Maywood, NJ.
Looks real close according to my NJ map.
Maybe 10-15 miles.

Maybe next year will work out... just can't do it with this Damn test that weekend.. It's nice knowing I could stay at my Uncle's and save that cost

Oh great, now there's a huge ad in the middle of the page declaring the PAA meet the largest ever and I can't even be there!

Someone on the West Coast should start a freight truck out of LA than comes thru the Midwest picking up cars along the way, all the way across the country out to PAA. The members could pitch in for the overall cost and we'll fly out. Attend the meet and then perhaps just drive back home (or something like that). How much would that cost?

I just know what the last one was like and this is bigger, it's going to be an event not to miss. It's not too late, I just might fly out w/o my car. Fotis, what are you doing?

Im on a project at Johnson and Johnson in Skillman, NJ all of May & June ..

so i think that weekend, I'll drive from cleveland to PAA instead of fly as usual for the meet.

Any of you other guys from the midwest, south, west .. where-ever else, that are gonna be driving, let me know if you wanna meet up and drive out together? i think it'd be a fun drive

Yes go for it I am driving 233 miles a little over 4hours from D.C.
When I saw your post & found out your from the Big Easy I knew it was quite a run. I always wanted to visit NEW ORLEANS & have entered the info in NAV a few times. I know for sure its over a 1000 miles from here.

Thats what MAP QUEST & THE NAV, say our speed limit down around here is 55MPH & does not get up to 60-65 untill you get aways out. I already got a ticket back in FEB to spoil my record of 5yrs without one. I was doing about 72MPH when they got me. I had been doing 82 when I saw the cop. Going up to Jersey the cops are not so nice so I will take it easy.
I can't afford the cost of another ticket now. The money I paid the state of Maryland a few months ago could have gone towards my tag renewal.

Those of us (NOVA, DC & MD) on the First Gen board are trying to arrange a "pack" up to Jersey. Please check out this thread: PAA Road Trip.

I can't wait. Not sure if i'll carpool up with another member or just roll up as a group of CLs.

Looks like 95N to 80W to Rt.17N, exit onto W.Passaic Ave and then we're there.

Man I miss NJ. I grew up there.

It's only 18 miles for me. We'll take lots of digital pix for all non-attendees to see.

Guys- the meet goes on rain or shine. Lets just hope for good weather! There is no way we could fit the cars inside! Remember- 10 to 2- door prizes to be awarded around noon! Comptech is donating springs, Injen is donating CAIs, Zaino is donating a kit, Kensteele and Sprint are donating 2 great cell phones (you have to get your own Sprint PCS service contract) I have heard from some others who will be bringing things also. We have t-shirts, caps and some other Acura stuff, too!

I have been contacting the Auto magazines and some of them say they will accept pictures - we will see. If anybody has some connections, e-mail me and I will follow up with them.

Thanks for that info wayne I was unsure about the rain.
If its raining here it might not be doing it there or the other way around. I dont know what time I will get out but I will be there.
I am trying to get a day to put some Zaino on my car so it won't look so bad.

If it rains I’ll bring along my LEAF BLOWER and give a CAR WASH & BLOW DRY demo for the attendees.

That is assuming I can get a quality INSIDE parking space.

awww...come on' nabster...this is a once in a year show. And from what I heard about last year's show, it was HUGE.

And besides...the drive through PA is cake. Nothing but easy winding, flat roads. No real wear and tear here.

Support the CL's and bring your car. If it makes you feel any better I'm driving my CL from Pittsburgh to NJ just for this event.

The meet is definitely worth going, car or no car. At the least, you can meet some of these crazy people you talk to everyday in person. I can still see their faces when I read their posts....:P

exactly! i cant wait.

me and my bro (aka batra) will be driving up in a expedition or explorer or something. depends on how nice hertz is to me.

if you wanna drive half way to cleveland and hitch a ride with us the rest of the way kensteele, you're welcome too. Plenty of room in the ford.

Wow, that's tempting, a drive to Cleveland and that's it; would be nice. Appreciate the offer but I can't even really spare a day or two away from the job. You guys have fun!

As Ernie “Eclipse23” has eloquently noted in the past, it’s basically a “sausage party” meaning few girls.
There were a few that were there last year, maybe 15, but for the most part all guys.

Bringing girls is lame unless they enjoy cars too. Otherwise you just end up ostracizing yourself because if you don't give your attention to the lady, there will be hell to pay when you get back home. You can ask TypeSKid about bringing a significant other to a car meet and ending up missing out on most of the good conversation time with the rest of the group.
