The next Michigan/Ontario meet!!
I had a great time at the Windsor meet, and I'm sure all of you did, too. I'm thinking we should meet up again in the near future.
Based on what we've talked about in the Windsor meet thread, here's the tentative schedule
On Saturday June 25th (or sometime around then; it's up to you guys), we will meet up at Stoney Creek Park. It's in the Metro Detroit area, about 20 minutes from the border (take I-75 all the way up; detailed directions will be posted later).
Stoney Creek Park is located in Shelby Township, Michigan. For more information go to http://www.metroparks.com/parks/pk_stony_creek.php. I've been there before and it's a large beautiful park. We will try to reserve a bungalow or a section of the park exclusively for AcuraZine.
We will BBQ there and hang out for a few hours, then we're going to hit up Kart2Kart. (www.kart2kart.com) It's a great go-kart place, and we'll try to reserve a time slot for AcuraZine and get a group discount rate. I've been there several times before and it's a GREAT time. We'll have a few competitions among the members, too. Stakes are high, so be prepared for a fierce battle.
After Kart2Kart, we will hit up downtown Pontiac for the bars. It's like a three square block area full of bars -- dueling piano bar, dance club, straight up "let's-get-fucked-up" bars, etc.
If anybody wants to stay overnight after the bars, there's a hotel a couple of miles away from downtown Pontiac, just off of I-75. It will be very easy to get back to the border from there.
If we have time, we can cruise down the famous Woodward Avenue. It's only minutes away from downtown Pontiac, and on a Saturday evening, it'll be rocking.
Well, this is the tentative schedule for now. If you would like to join us, then please post and let us know! We look forward to seeing the familiar faces along with new ones, too!

Come, Jesal. You should come. It's only a 4-hour drive. My friend makes that trip every weekend.

I cant do the 25th, but I'd LOVE to do Stoney Creek. My apartment is literally 3/4 of a mile from the park so if we needed to store any stuff and have it close I could easily do that. My apt is at Mound & 26 mile, like 1/4 mile east of the park entrance off 26.

I was the new guy at the Windsor meet. I'd come but I think the possibility of losing to Jen is too much for my fragile ego to take. Can we make Jen add some weight to her cart? That said, if I have to lose to a girl - I suppose at least it would be an Azine girl.
Just joking around with you Jen.
But someone will have to search you for water ballons prior to getting into the Kart. Otherwise I think its just too dangerous.

You prefer long weekends? Although I guess given the distance we have to travel, that makes sense. Samkws: When the major meet in TO this summer?
In any case: I will attempt to make it regardless of what weekend its on. Seems a shame to go to the states and not pickup some cheap mod parts? brake kit? something? something thats expensive in Canada and not so in the states?
Rob: Thanks for the ride.
Jen: Why do I get the feeling that cars a sleeper? IS it?

the long weekend is no good. border traffic etc sucks.
I think we're going to have a TO meet July 23/24.
I think June 24/25 also has some other things going on for a few of us.
the rest of teh summer is pretty open at this point I think.

I will be in TO for sure on July 23/24th anyways. That would rock to have a meet then.
I say have a meet June 25th in MI and another in July 23rd in TO.

Meant to say as long as its not on the long weekend (July 4th weekend) i'll be down.... Won't be able to make it since I'll be at the cottage if the meet is on the long weekend.....
Jesal if you are coming into town on the July 23, we should look into hosting a meet.....

I'm seriously leaning toward June 25th. That's about right in the middle of the recent Windsor meet and the late July Toronto meet. But if anyone really wants to come but the date won't work out, please let us know!! We want everyone to be there.
