MIDWEST MEET: Milwaukee/Madison/Chicago/IL/MN?/OH?--VOTE for venue!!!
Hello Midwest Acura/Honda lovers!!
Mr. Chad and I are working on creating another great Midwest Meet right here in my hometown of Milwaukee, WI. The date will be Sunday, September 7th. Time and place to be determined. I am an '06 TSX owner and have helped put together several Milwaukee meets. Previous meet photos:
This is not like other meets. We know how to do things up here in Brew Town. We're talking food, beverages, desserts, and a bunch of dudes and a few chicks (well at least one!) who like to talk about cars until we're all blue in the face. So don't miss one of the last good meets of the season!!!
So the date is set, but the venue is not. We have a couple of good options:
1. South Shore Park: Site of the first Milwaukee meet. Picnic in front of the lake and a short jaunt over to the Calatrava wing of the museum brought forth the fantastic pictures seen above. Negatives? Lake breeze blew everything all over, someone has to grill or we have just snack food, parking is decent but not "ample". Postives? A gorgeous view, great photo ops, oh..and it's free.
2. Alan Kulwicki Park: Site of the 2006 meet. Nice park just off a major street. Huge parking lot for pictures (see pic with attendees above). Those who attended will remember driving over to my house for a bbq. Unfortunately, I no longer have the house but the brand new Brooks Pavillion is available. It holds up to 75, has a kitchen, tables and chairs and offers shelter if the weather isn't great. The only downside would be, depending on how many people attended, there would be a $10-15 cost attached per person. However, would be a good place to have some good eats and hang out and talk without being affected by the elements.
3. Other???
Please let me know who's interested and vote on a venue. Let's make this a great end of season meet!!! Come up and take the trip--it's worth stopping for a beer and some cheese on the way, at least!

I have no idea why no one in Chicagoland ever ventures out....
WI just isn't that far and it makes for a nice meet and nice drive, seriously get this WI has some roads not swarmed with grid-lock or Tolls. Holy sh** imagine that no tolls.
I live near 80 and 55 this isn't that bad a drive.

Cool..I'd like to know if we at least have 10 people so I can book a location. I know we have 4 at this point. Me, Mr. Chad, ZEUS'O3TL, and sho_nuff1997. I think this could be a lot of fun so let me know if you can make it!!

Ok everyone--sorry for the delay. It looks like there was a scheduling conflict and we would have to move the date to Sunday, September 14th instead. The pavillion is now out since the dates have booked up fast. We would be hitting the park and I think South Shore Park would be cool since the backdrop is so nice.
I'm thinking we could go simple. Snack type food that doesn't require cooking unless someone wants to grill (I'm one of those chicks that doesn't use a grill, sorry. ) I mean, I'll be happy to bring some pasta salad, desserts, chips, taco dip..stuff like that I think would work great. Let me know what you all think.
It's been 2 years since the last meet, folks. Let's get something going again before the season ends.

People so far...
Alright, so I'm just trying to get an idea of who all is going. You said that you had four people for sure, and then someone said that if more IL people were interested then they would go. Well I'm in Lindenhurst, IL (5 minutes from border) and I'm totally down to meet up. I've never been to an Acura Meet before. My buddy has a Mustang and I go to his Meets all the time. Time to change it up!

hmm..looks like some renewed interest. I was starting to get depressed..lol. Ok so maybe we can work this out.
***Just a reminder that we are now looking at September 14th for the new date. ***
Does everyone think the park by the lake is a good venue? Again, we can do snacks or if someone is willing to grill, I'm willing to bring stuff.
Can't wait to see the old crew again and maybe some new faces too!!

Count my cousin and I in. We attended the meet in Chicago this last Sunday and had a great time, we are from the Milwaukee area and it would be really cool to have a meet in Brew City!

Nice!
Ok so, I started thinking food.
Again, if no one wants to grill, I can bring taco dip and some dessert type stuff like brownines and cookies. If anything, those who are still hungry could always caravan after the meet to get food at a local restaurant.
So I guess I'll be the first to sign up to bring a dip and some desserts. Technically, we won't have a picnic permit (last time we just got there early and snagged a spot without "reserving" a spot) so we're not "supposed" to be drinking alcohol and I don't know how well that's enforced but I'll also bring a case of soda.
Anyone else have ideas or want to bring something?
Going off the last list:
1. SaraWI bringing dip, desserts, soda
2. Mr. Chad
3. ZEUS'O3TL
4. sho_nuff1997
5. dave586270 ('01 CL-S/Silver/AT)

8. *Maybe CHISOX1
9. Alperovich? You still in with the new date??
