And what's going one with the overnight fiasco? We still going out that night? Getting hotel rooms? (No suite, cuz if I'm outnumbered, I'm not sharing with a bunch of guys)

We could get a suite, or we could just get rooms next to each other. I am definitely not driving back the same night.

This is the message that I received from the City:
"Hi Derrick,
Thank you for inquiring about the BBQ/picnic facilities located with the City of Windsor. Mic Mac Park, Memorial Park (at the Optimist Community Centre), Lanspeary Park (on Ottawa St) are the picnic areas that we rent out to groups/families. For 10-15 people, I would recommend one of our open park spaces, such as at Jackson Park or Malden Park. These parks can accommodate smaller groups of people and do not require a permit. For groups over 20, I would recommend a picnic permit. The cost of permits range form $52-$62, depending on the facility. As for portable heating elements, such as a Coleman stove, there are no restrictions. You can also bring in your own propane BBQ. Mobile BBQ or "chip trucks" are not permitted.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call or email.
Thank you,

Well I've got an interesting situation, I've got an international confrences for one of my businesses on the 21st... but the confrence is in Detriot at the Cobo Center. It looks like I'm going to go to Detriot friday afternoon and getting a hotel there for the weekend. I don't think there would be a problem getting out of the confrence to come for the barb-q... Plus I knew about the barb-q prior to the confrence.
We've got over 15 thousand people coming into detriot from as far as Norway, Austrailia, England, etc. for the confrence, Detriot is going to rammed with parties that weekend.

I would figure since some are going out later that night ... we'd start this a little later in the day ... say, 4PM? Too early? Too late? I figure at 4, you'd have at least 4 hours of good daylight to hang out and throw the ball, frisbee, etc. I think at dusk, the parks people will kick you out ...
Malden Park is an OK place ... the parking lot is kinda small and somewhat removed from the camping area. (200 yards away or so). So you couldn't really keep an eye out for your car, per se. That's food for thought.
What do we have on the list ...
1) beer, drinks - CHECK
2) BBQ - CHECK
3) plates, cups - CHECK
4) entertainment - _______
5) meat, BBQ food - CHECK
6) bread for BBQ stuff - _____
I guess 4 and 6 are still pending. I think everyone should bring something they like plus a little more for everyone else. If we don't have it, I can always drive back to my house (about 7 minutes' drive from the park, depending on truck traffic / police on Huron Church ... LOL)

FYI, there's a list on page 5 which you can copy and paste, and add your name on there along with the stuff you can bring. This way, we don't end up with 50 buns and no burgers. That would be tragic.

Anyone has any special requests ... BYO. I would bring a Costco sized maconi / potato salad. I have a cooler somewhere in my house. Someone got ice? I'll bring it since I'm the only one from Windsor showing ...
